1/2cupunsalted butter, softened to room temperature
4clovesgarlic, finely minced
1/4cupfresh basil leaves, chopped
1teaspoonsalt
1/2teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
1cupfresh mozzarella cheese, sliced into rounds
1cupcherry tomatoes, halved
to tastebalsamic glaze for drizzling
to tasteextra basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it is hot and ready for crispy bread.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Use a fork or spatula to mix well until the mixture is smooth and all flavors are thoroughly blended.
Take the baguette or ciabatta and slice it in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously and evenly over the inside cut sides of the bread.
Arrange the garlic bread halves on a baking sheet, ensuring the cut sides are facing up. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn a beautiful golden brown.
Remove the bread from the oven and layer the sliced mozzarella so that it covers the garlic buttered sides evenly. Next, add the halved cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese.
Place the loaded bread back into the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the mozzarella is perfectly melted and bubbly.
Once baked, take the bread out of the oven and elegantly drizzle balsamic glaze over the top for that perfect touch of sweetness.
Garnish with a few extra fresh basil leaves, then cut the bread into bite-sized pieces for serving.
