Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a large mixing bowl, add the broccoli florets along with minced garlic, olive oil, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), and season generously with salt and pepper. Toss thoroughly until every piece of broccoli is coated with the flavorful mixture.
Spread the seasoned broccoli evenly on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer to ensure even roasting.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for approximately 20 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender with crisp edges, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
Once roasted, take the baking sheet from the oven and promptly sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the hot broccoli. Gently toss to mix, allowing the heat to melt the cheese.
Return the baking sheet to the oven for an extra 2 minutes, just until the cheese becomes melty and bubbly.
After the cheese has melted to perfection, remove the dish from the oven and finish by garnishing with a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
