Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the pure maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk together thoroughly until you achieve a smooth glaze. Set aside a portion of the glaze for later use.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), allowing it to heat fully while you prepare the salmon fillets.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure effortless cleanup post-baking.
Arrange the salmon fillets, skin-side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Season each fillet generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper to elevate their flavor.
Using a pastry brush, generously apply the maple glaze over the top of each salmon fillet, making sure to coat them evenly. Remember to set aside some glaze for basting later.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes. The fish is cooked when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches your desired level of doneness. Halfway through baking, use the reserved glaze to brush the fillets, adding layers of flavor.
For a delightful caramelized finish, you can broil the salmon for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end of the baking time. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning and achieve that beautiful, glossy glaze.
Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes to allow the flavors to settle. Just before serving, sprinkle the fillets with freshly chopped chives or parsley for a burst of color and flavor.
